The Reception Volunteer serves as the first point of contact for visitors, volunteers, and members. This role involves providing assistance and information while creating a welcoming environment for all who enter. The volunteer will engage with visitors, address inquiries, and support the organization’s daily operations. They will also assist all departments to ensure that Wings mission and impact are effectively represented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Answer the main phone line and direct callers to the appropriate staff member.
- Greet visitors/guests and guide them to check in on the iPad to receive a visitor badge. Notify the staff members of their arrival.
- Interact with staff, volunteers, visitors/guests, and Members as they navigate through the lobby area.
- Manage the security system via iPad by unlocking the main doors for guests and internal doors as needed for guests, staff, volunteers, and members.
- Receive packages and mail. Place received mail into the mounted white mailbox and distribute packages to the appropriate staff member.
- Assist in receiving monetary donations and payments to Wings. Place payments in the mounted white mailbox. Donations: notify appropriate staff to come greet and accept donation.
- Operate other technology when necessary, including but not limited to TVs, tablets, printers, sound systems, and microphones.
- This position handles sensitive information and requires confidentiality, sharing details only with the appropriate staff members. Including information gathered from phone calls and Member interactions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
